Hanover St, Rozelle – Residential renovation: This project is the second renovation
taken on by ‘On the Ball Building’ for this particular client. 7 Hanover Street Rozelle is a classic Federation
cottage with its original existing features. The renovation required us to retain the Federation cottage look,
whilst creating an addition with a modern feel. As the home was such a charming and treasured existing structure it
required our dedication and respect to the restoration and a keen eye for the addition.
This allowed us to provide the client a modern feel without losing the classic characteristic of a heritage home,
a great challenge throughout the whole build.
The new modern rear extension created a stunning indoor/outdoor living space both upstairs and downstairs.
Having the traditional bedrooms at the entrance of the home keep the home in line with its traditional style.
The upstairs also includes a modern, open plan kitchen, with high end quality finishers and custom joinery which
further added to the quality feel of this home. Downstairs opened up to the entraining area, featuring a gym and study,
and was changed to a completely open plan layout created by the bi-fold doors. The bi-fold doors lead directly onto the lawn,
lap pool, and BBQ area, which created an indoor/outdoor living and entertaining space. This particular project brought some
challenges but the result was rewarding to all. ’On the Ball Building’ not only created a family home with a ‘wow factor’ but
provided the client their desired result of modernizing their classic home.
